Frequently Asked Questions

Will I receive marketing texts?

Never! We only require your phone number to contact you for any matters concerning your booking. City Food Tours does not send marketing texts.

What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?

We are happy to accommodate vegetarians, dietary restrictions, and special needs to the best of our ability.  Please make a note when purchasing your tickets and we'll do everything we can to accommodate limitations. If you have any allergies or concerns about ingredients please ask your Guide  before consuming anything.

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?

We have welcomed many guests of all abilities and disabilities in the past, and are happy to make any necessary accommodations to ensure your comfort on our tours. Almost every stop on our tours are already wheelchair accessible, but there may be instances that are not wheelchair-friendly. You will be prompted to note any accessibility concerns when booking your tickets, but please also notify your Tour Guide of any concerns at the start of your tour. 

I will be driving into the city, where do you recommend I park?

Since it can be difficult to find street parking, we recommend parking in a garage or lot. There are several garages and lots all throughout Philadelphia. We recommend finding a parking spot relatively close to your meeting location. 

Is there a lot of walking on the tour?

Depending on the tour, the walking will cover between 0.5 and 1.5 miles (10-30 minutes total walking). We walk very leisurely at a pace that is comfortable for all, and there will also be several stops and opportunities for sitting

 

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?

Tickets must be purchased in advance to guarantee your spot. Tours sell out quickly! Get information, check availability, and buy tickets online. Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are accepted.

Is there an age minimum for the tours?
Tours are designed for guests of all ages, but to ensure everyone has a good time, anyone with small children should contact us. Generally, if alcohol is served, guests must be 21 or older. Please see the individual tour descriptions for complete details.

Can I get on a waiting list if a tour is sold out?
Unfortunately, there are no waiting lists for our tours. Tours are offered several times every week, so please check another date and time for availability.

What happens if it rains?
The tours will take place in all light weather conditions. In rare circumstances such as a heavy snow storm, a hurricane, or other extreme weather when the tour venues can't open, the tour would be canceled. All you would have to do is rebook your tour.

 

How much food will I eat on the tour?
Many of our tours include plenty of food for a meal, but it's stretched out over the course of the entire tour experience. Check individual tour descriptions for details. Some tours include beverages, but bring a water bottle if you like.

I live in the city. Is the tour still good for me?
Absolutely! On our tours you will explore hidden places that you probably don’t know about and learn many new things about food. You will see some of the coolest spots in the city and experience your hometown in a totally new way.
